The Programme

The Malaysia Premium Visa Programme.

A renewable 20 + 20 year residency — with the freedom to live, work, study and invest on your own terms.

What PVIP Is

A long-term residence pass, issued by Malaysia Immigration.

The Premium Visa Programme (PVIP) is a long-term residence pass, issued and administered by the Immigration Department of Malaysia under the Immigration Department of Malaysia (IDM). It is designed for foreign nationals and their families who wish to make Malaysia a long-term base — granting treatment close to that of a permanent resident, without giving up your existing nationality.

Unlike a tourist or short-term visa, PVIP is built for the long view. It lets you establish a stable, secure and legally protected home for your family without uprooting your career or your centre of life — present when you wish to be, free to come and go as you please.

Key Benefits

Why discerning families choose PVIP.

20 + 20 Year Residency

An initial 20-year residency, renewable for a further 20 — decades of stability and certainty.

No Minimum Stay

No requirement to physically reside in Malaysia for any number of days. Your life can stay where it is.

No Age Limit

Open to applicants of any age who meet the financial criteria — equally suited to the working and the retired.

Work · Study · Business · Invest

Work legally, study, found and run businesses, and make investments in Malaysia.

Buy Property

Purchase residential, commercial or industrial property in line with local regulations.

Bring Your Family

Include your spouse, children, parents and parents-in-law — plus one domestic helper.

Eligibility

What you need to qualify.

PVIP's eligibility criteria are clear and well-defined. The principal requirements are set out below. Once you engage us, we check each against your circumstances and pre-screen everything thoroughly before any government fee is paid.

Offshore Income

Demonstrate offshore income of at least RM40,000 per month, or RM480,000 per year.

RM1,000,000 Fixed Deposit

A RM1,000,000 fixed deposit held in your own name at a licensed Malaysian bank — refundable under the programme rules.

Letter of Good Conduct

A letter of good conduct (police clearance) issued by your country of origin.

Medical Report & Local Insurance

A medical examination completed in Malaysia, together with valid local medical insurance.

Your Standing

Rights close to those of a permanent resident.

As a PVIP holder, your rights — to live, work, study, own property and bring your family — sit very close to those of a permanent resident. You and your family may settle in Malaysia for the long term, freely, with no minimum-stay commitment. That is precisely what makes it so well suited to families who value global mobility.

PVIP vs MM2H

How PVIP differs from MM2H.

Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) is the other well-known residency route. Each has its place; below is a factual, fair comparison to help you understand where PVIP stands apart.
